|---|---|---|
| 0.0001 | ≈10 | 5% |
| 0.001 | ≈100 | 10% |
| 0.01 | ≈1,000 | 15% |

| 1 | ≈100,000 | 30% |
| 5 | ≈500,000 | 40% |

Worked example: a $10,000 perp trade
Base tier, taker| Case | Fee |
|---|---|
| Base taker fee (0.045%) | $4.50 |
| With the 4% referral discount | $4.32 |
| With a 10% staking discount | $4.05 |
| With both discounts | $3.89 |
Fee = notional × taker rate × (1 − each discount). With both discounts, they are applied one after the other. Referral rows assume an eligible user with a referral code. Only for the user's first $25M in volume; excludes sub-accounts.

Hyperliquid fees FAQ
What are Hyperliquid's trading fees?
Hyperliquid charges 0.045% taker and 0.015% maker on perps and 0.070%/0.040% on spot at the base tier. Fees are charged on the notional value of each fill: taker fees when an order takes liquidity, maker fees when a resting order is filled.
How do I get lower fees on Hyperliquid?
VIP tiers start above $5M of 14-day weighted volume (perp volume + 2 × spot volume; 0.040% taker, 0.012% maker on perps) and reach 0.024% taker at the top tier; staking HYPE cuts fees by up to 40%; a referral code takes 4% off fees for the user's first $25M in volume only, excluding sub-accounts.
Does staking HYPE reduce fees?
Yes. Hyperliquid discounts fees by 5% to 40% depending on staked HYPE, measured as a share of HYPE's max supply (0.0001 to 5 basis points).
What is the maker rebate?
Instead of paying a maker fee, market makers above 0.5% of Hyperliquid's 14-day maker volume are paid a rebate of 0.001% of each maker fill's notional, rising to 0.003% above 3%.
