Coverage

which exchanges send liquidations, and how completely

Sampling. Binance publishes at most one liquidation per symbol per second (the largest), so its numbers are a lower bound during cascades. Not included: Hyperliquid, MEXC, KuCoin (no all-market liquidation feed is collected). Sizes are quantity × fill price in US dollars.

How to read it. Each row is one liquidation order as the exchange published it. A long liquidation is a forced sell after the price fell; a short liquidation is a forced buy after it rose. Size is quantity × fill price in US dollars. Refreshed every five minutes. See the daily liquidation history for totals per day. Not financial advice.

Largest liquidations FAQ

What counts as one liquidation here?

One forced-close order as the exchange published it: a coin, a side, a size in US dollars (quantity × price) and the price it was filled at. A large position liquidated in several orders shows up as several rows.

What do long and short mean in this table?

A long liquidation closes a position that bet on a rise, after the price fell; a short liquidation closes a bet on a fall, after the price rose. Many large long liquidations at once usually mean a sharp drop; many shorts, a squeeze.

Which exchanges are included, and is every liquidation counted?

Liquidations come from the exchanges' public WebSocket feeds. Binance: Liquidations sampled: Binance publishes at most one per symbol per second; Bybit: Every liquidation (allLiquidation stream); Bitget: Sampled liquidations (largest per coin and side each second); Gate: Every liquidation on USDT perps (futures.public_liquidates, batched each second); HTX: Every liquidation on USDT swaps (public liquidation_orders stream). Binance publishes at most one liquidation per symbol per second (the largest), so its totals are a lower bound in busy moments. Not included: Hyperliquid, MEXC, KuCoin (no public all-market liquidation feed is collected).
