BTC Binance reference contract, 2026-10-08

One UTC day of the Binance BTCUSDT perpetual, recomputed from the hourly data we recorded. It describes this one contract, not the coin's total market across exchanges.

Contract: Binance BTCUSDT perpetual (binance:perp:BTCUSDT), the reference contract for BTC here, not every exchange. UTC day 2026-10-08 00:00 UTC – 2026-10-09 00:00 UTC. Data through 2026-10-09 00:00 UTC.

What changed from the previous UTC day?

Binance BTCUSDT perpetual only: 2026-10-08 (2026-10-08 00:00 UTC – 2026-10-09 00:00 UTC) against 2026-10-07 (2026-10-07 00:00 UTC – 2026-10-08 00:00 UTC). Rates change in percentage points (pp); liquidations change in USDT-equivalent dollars. A row is compared only when both days recorded all 24 hours of it.

Funding rows compare quoted rates, not funding paid. Liquidations are what Binance's sampled public stream showed for this one contract on each day, a lower bound, not exchange-wide or all-market totals.

Hourly evidence (UTC)

One row per recorded hour bucket: the last price close and USD OI snapshot in the hour, the average funding quote and basis, and the liquidations observed. The first row is the previous day's 23:00 hour, the opening anchor.

How this recap is built

Source: Binance USD-M futures and spot public market data, recorded by our engine each minute and rolled up to hours. Only the BTCUSDT perpetual is read; other exchanges and contracts are not included, so this is not a total or global figure for BTC.

The price return and OI changes compare the previous day's 23:00 hour with the day's 23:00 hour (or the latest closed hour today). These are the last values we recorded in each hour, not Binance's official UTC daily close. A change is shown only when both anchor hours were recorded and nothing in between went unrecorded. The price-adjusted OI change removes the price move from the USD change.

Funding is the average of the rates quoted each hour, as an 8-hour equivalent. It is not the rate paid at settlement and is never summed. Basis is the perp mark against Binance spot for the same pair, averaged over the recorded hours.

Liquidations add up the forced orders seen during recorded hours. Binance's public stream shows at most one liquidation per symbol per second, so totals are a sampled lower bound. An hour we were not recording is left out rather than counted as zero.

Each day is recomputed from the data we still hold, so it is not a frozen snapshot. Recaps cover today and the 29 days before it.
