Worked example

BTC long, the numbers above
  1. You open a 10x long of 0.118852 BTC ($10,000.00) at $84,138.60. Your initial margin is $10,000.00 ÷ 10 = $1,000.00.
  2. Bitget puts a $10,000.00 position in risk tier 1: a maintenance margin rate of 0.40%, and at most 150x leverage.
  3. Liquidation price = (entry × (1 − 1/leverage)) ÷ (1 − MMR) = $76,028.86.
  4. That is 9.64% below your entry.

How Bitget calculates liquidation

BTCUSDT

Bitget liquidates an isolated USDT-M position when its margin falls to the maintenance margin: position value × the maintenance margin rate (keepMarginRate) of its position tier. Bitget doesn't publish a deduction, so the whole position uses its tier's rate. The fee to close also comes out of the margin: enter your taker fee to include it. Liquidation follows the mark price.

The formula

Long: Liquidation = (Entry × (1 − 1/Leverage) − Deduction ÷ Quantity) ÷ (1 − MMR − fee)

Short: Liquidation = (Entry × (1 + 1/Leverage) + Deduction ÷ Quantity) ÷ (1 + MMR + fee)

The maintenance margin is position value × MMR − deduction, with the MMR and the deduction of the tier your position value falls in. Without a deduction this is the classic isolated-margin formula of the liquidation price calculator. Quantity = position value ÷ entry.

Bitget Liquidation Price Calculator FAQ

What maintenance margin rate does Bitget use?

Each position tier (a band of position value) has a maintenance margin rate and a maximum leverage. This page reads them from Bitget's public position tier endpoint and uses the tier for your position value.

Why does a bigger Bitget position liquidate sooner?

A bigger position moves into a higher tier with a higher maintenance margin rate, so less of your margin can be lost before liquidation.

How is the Bitget liquidation price calculated?

For an isolated long: (entry × (1 − 1/leverage) − deduction ÷ quantity) ÷ (1 − maintenance margin rate − fee). For a short: (entry × (1 + 1/leverage) + deduction ÷ quantity) ÷ (1 + maintenance margin rate + fee). The maintenance margin is charged on the position's value at the liquidation price; the rate and the deduction come from the tier your position value falls in.

Where can I see every tier?

The BTC max leverage page lists the full tier tables of Bybit, Bitget, Gate and Hyperliquid side by side. For a calculator with your own maintenance margin rate, use the liquidation price calculator.
