Fibonacci Retracement Calculator

Work out the Fibonacci retracement and extension levels of a move. Enter a swing high, a swing low and the trend, or pick a coin and a window: the calculator finds the highest high and lowest low of the last 30 days, 90 days or year of Binance spot daily candles, sets the trend from whichever came last and shows each level's price and distance from the live price.

Worked example

BTC uptrend, the numbers above
  1. The 90 days of Binance spot BTCUSDT daily candles to 2026-10-18 peak at $87,395.67 on 2026-09-21 and bottom at $62,275.00 on 2026-08-01. The low came first, so the move is an uptrend from the low to the high.
  2. Range = high − low = $87,395.67 − $62,275.00 = $25,120.67.
  3. Retracements count down from the high: level = high − range × ratio. 61.8%: $87,395.67 − $25,120.67 × 0.618 = $71,871.10.
  4. Extensions project past the high, measured from the low: level = low + range × ratio. 161.8%: $62,275.00 + $25,120.67 × 1.618 = $102,920.24.
  5. Distance from the live price = (level − live) ÷ live: 61.8% is -12.83% from $82,449.90.

The formula

Range = High − Low

Uptrend: Retracement = High − Range × ratio · Extension = Low + Range × ratio

Downtrend: Retracement = Low + Range × ratio · Extension = High − Range × ratio

Distance from live = (Level − Live price) ÷ Live price

Retracement ratios are 0%, 23.6%, 38.2%, 50%, 61.8%, 78.6% and 100%, extensions 127.2%, 161.8% and 261.8%. In an uptrend 0% is the high and 100% the low, and the extensions sit above the high; a downtrend mirrors it. With a coin picked, the swing is the highest daily high and lowest daily low of the window's completed UTC days on Binance spot, and the trend is up when the low came first. The highlighted rows bound the live price.

Fibonacci Retracement Calculator FAQ

How are Fibonacci retracement levels calculated?

Take the range of a move, high minus low. In an uptrend each retracement is the high minus the range times the ratio (23.6%, 38.2%, 50%, 61.8%, 78.6%), so 0% is the high and 100% the low. In a downtrend they are the low plus the range times the ratio.

How are Fibonacci extensions calculated?

Extensions project the move past its end, measured from where it started: in an uptrend the low plus the range times 127.2%, 161.8% or 261.8%; in a downtrend the high minus it. A deep downtrend extension can fall below zero and is then shown without a price.

Which swing high and low does it use?

With a coin picked, the highest daily high and lowest daily low of the last 30, 90 or 365 completed UTC days of Binance spot USDT candles (today's unfinished candle is left out). If the same price is hit twice the latest day counts, and the trend is up when the low came before the high. You can type your own swing instead.

What is the golden ratio level?

61.8%, the golden ratio's inverse, with 161.8% its extension. 50% is not a Fibonacci ratio but is watched as the midpoint of the move. The levels are reference points traders watch, not predictions or trading advice.

Where can I see the coin's price history?

Each coin's price history page lists its daily candles, and the pivot point calculator gives support and resistance from the previous day or week.
