Every weekday and slot cell has at least 26 settlements.
What is compared. Each cell is the median of the actual Binance BTCUSDT funding payments that settled on that UTC weekday at that hour, as the exchange's raw per-settlement rate times 100, with the number of settlements behind it. Only eight-hour settlements count: a finite stored rate, a funding interval of exactly eight hours and a settlement time within the first second of 00:00, 08:00 or 16:00 UTC (Binance stamps a nominal 08:00:00 payment at 08:00:00.001). Four-hour and hourly settlements, off-schedule stamps and unusable rows are excluded and counted; they are never scaled into pretend eight-hour payments or blended in.
Settlement weekday. A payment belongs to the UTC date and weekday it settled on, so the Monday 00:00 UTC settlement is a Monday payment although the funding it charges accrued during the last eight hours of Sunday. Rows are settlement weekdays, not the weekday the cost accrued on. Negative share is the percentage of the row's observed payments below zero: a negative payment means shorts paid longs, a positive one longs paid shorts, and a payment of exactly zero is an observed non-negative payment, not a gap. A cell with fewer than 26 settlements is marked thin and an empty cell shows no settlements; neither is filled from another weekday or year. Nothing here is summed across weekdays, compounded into a yearly rate, tested for significance or offered as a best time to trade.
Source and window. Binance's own settled funding history for BTCUSDT, stored by this site and read for the 10 years before today's UTC midnight (2016-10-29 00:00 UTC to 2026-10-29 00:00 UTC, at most 100,000 settlements); the first comparable settlement loaded is 2019-09-10 08:00 UTC and the latest 2026-10-28 16:00 UTC. Today's settlements are not read, and the yearly table shows only 2025, the latest fully completed calendar year. The backfill marker reports history complete from 2019-09-01 00:00 UTC; that is informational, and the counts above come from the stored settlements. A row count never proves that every settlement in the window is stored.
Bitcoin weekday funding FAQ
Is Bitcoin funding different at the weekend on Binance?
The table answers that from stored settlements: for each UTC weekday and settlement hour it shows the median of the eight-hour payments that actually settled then and the share that were negative. A Saturday row with a different median from the weekday rows is a historical observation over the dates shown, not a forecast for the next weekend.
Which weekday does the 00:00 UTC payment belong to?
The weekday of its own settlement date. Binance pays Monday's 00:00 UTC settlement a millisecond after midnight on Monday, so it is a Monday settlement here even though the funding it charges accrued during Sunday's last eight hours. Every row is a settlement weekday, not the weekday the cost accrued on.
Why are some stored settlements excluded?
Only eight-hour settlements stamped at 00:00, 08:00 or 16:00 UTC are comparable payments. Binance has funded some contracts every four hours or every hour; those payments cover shorter periods and are counted as excluded rather than scaled into pretend eight-hour payments. Rows stamped off the schedule or with an unusable rate are excluded and counted too.
Can I trade a weekday pattern from this page?
The page makes no such claim. It reports medians and counts; it does not test whether a difference is significant, compound rates into an annual figure or backtest a strategy, and a cell with few settlements is marked thin rather than hidden.
